What type of dog bed should I get for my dog?

I have a small/medium sized dog whose name is lucky he is mostly german sheperd/collie mix. We let him sleep on a chair with a dog bed on it but he is getting too big. Would a large sofa dog bed type work?

What to do with a dog who bites and barks?

About a month and a half ago I adopted a 6 month old pit bull/ hound mix from a local shelter. They believe she had been a stray since birht and has had no owners and therefore no training or socialization whatsoever. Overall she is a very good dog, she’s learned sit, stay, and lay very quickly. I have every intention of taking her to obedience training however she has ringworm and I am not able to take her until she is completely cured since it is contagious. Recently, she has begun barking which I’m not sure if she is trying to get attention (bc she does get quite a bit of attention) or what and she has begun biting. It started off as playful biting and though I think she is still playing she’s become much more forceful in the recent week.

While I am away from the house she is crated. Once she is in her crate she is fine but she does not like to get in it. She will hide under the bed, behind the sofa, etc and try to bite me when I try to get her out. Any ideas on how to fix these problems? Like I said obedience training is in her near future but until she’s ringworm free I need some ideas, thanks!

Heating a dog house for the winter?

I would like some suggestions for heating a dog house this winter. I’ve already thought of putting a heating pad inside of her dog bed right under the top layer and hanging some of that thick plastic mat in front of the entrance to the dog house, but am wondering how warm that will make it. Any other ideas will be welcome on how to heat it. If your idea is to take the dog inside then buzz off, your opinion is not valid or wanted. Taking her inside is not an option. Besides, I’ve been reading some of these other posts where an owner is crucified for leaving their dog outside. Well, I have an 8yr old lab that goes swimming in the lake everyday in the winter and you can’t drag her inside. I’m not worried about her, but my Jack Russell gets cold easily. She’ll be just fine though if she has a warm dog house that she can get into whenever she wants. Her house is to big for her body to heat. Have a smaller one, but lab won’t fit and Jack likes to switch houses. Thanks.
I’d like to thank everyone who gave me suggestions. The dog house is on my front porch in a corner with a wall on the right and another wall 15ft ahead of it and it’s a covered porch. I’m worried that if I put a light in her house she’ll get burned. She’s not that smart. I have an old comforter that I put in her house and she wraps up in it. Straw is two messy, but thanks for the suggestion and I’m going to put up a door cover as soon as I find some good material. As for the two people who said to bring her inside and that dogs are social animals, 1.) reading more carfully and you’ll see my response and 2.) I know dogs are social animals. I have two and I play with them everyday. The Jack Russel is the one who gets cold, the lab is fine.

how can i keep a dog from shredding the sheets?

is there some kind of laundry detergent or something i can spray on the bed (other than bitter apple, because it gets all over me as well) to keep my boyfriend’s dog from chewing up his sheets and comforter? discipline (yelling, growling, smacking on the nose, etc) does not seem to be working. it’d be nice if we could get him to not destroy his own dog beds and blankets also, as of now he has nothing in his crate other than a nyla bone.
